Star Coupling

Star coupling is a type of flexible coupling that transmits torque between two shafts while damping vibrations through an elastomeric intermediate element. The star-shaped elastomeric insert, positioned between the metal hubs, transmits torque while also absorbing the vibrations and shock loads generated in the system.

Thanks to this construction, star couplings extend equipment service life and ensure more stable operation. They offer high performance in applications requiring vibration control, shock absorption, and tolerance for shaft misalignment, and are widely preferred thanks to their compact structure and ease of installation.

Technical Structure and Material Options

Star couplings consist of two metal hubs and a star-shaped elastomeric coupling insert positioned between them. The elastomeric element absorbs vibrations in the system, extending equipment service life and ensuring more efficient power transmission.

  • NBR (Nitrile Rubber): Resistant to oil and fuel
  • EPDM: Resistant to water, steam, and outdoor conditions
  • Polyurethane (PU): High wear resistance and high torque capacity
  • Silicone: High temperature resistance

Production with different shore hardness values provides application-specific performance.
